The year that was 2010

It's the last day of 2010 and I've been looking back through the bloggy archives remembering the year. I've always loved that I can go back through old posts and its kind of like a diary showing me where I was and what I was up to. Anyways I was inspired by Renee-anne to do a month by month summary of some of my favorite moments of the year. (warning, this post could end up rather long!!)

So here we go....
Jan: India!! need I say more. Gosh India was even more than I could have prepared for. At times I was so overwhelmed by it all I cried and wanted to come straight home but at the same time there were moments I absolutely loved it. India is crazy! There really is no other way to put it. food. smells. people. cows. colour. traffic. Shantaram really had it spot on. I kind of want to go back.

Feb: Not really an eventful month. Coming back from India I found it hard to get back into blogging. I forgot about this post.

March: I got my blogging mojo back, Mori Girl. Planting Lilacs and Buttercups. my birthday - mix tapes.

April: LomoAmigo and some diana mini tips. I dream...

May: My home on The Design Files - and I met the lovely Lucy. Vintage Cameras
Creative Muse: Bat For Lashes. Anna Aden. it's you

June: My blogs 3rd birthday. I went to the snow and decided that yes I do really dislike snow. Snow I have given you three chances and sorry its just not going to happen for us.

July:
Packing to move to QLD. sad face

Aug: The road trip to QLD. happy face

Sept: I really don't know what happened to this month but I do love this post I heard your whispering.

Oct: MY DREAM CAME TRUE! A certain magazine come out with a certain feature. eek! Also the collaboration I did with Element Eden came out andddd I met two amazing bloggers who have been my blogging friends since the beginning of time (well not time, but my blogging time). Holy crap sticks. seriously massive and the next month was a blur.

Nov: Seriously busy stuffs happened here! parties, and seeing my clothing in store for the first time. Wow. That was a hugely surreal moment up until then I had known and been working on the collection but It wasn't really real until I saw it hanging in stores (if that makes sense?). Was also a big month in my real life job , milestones and all that.

Dec: Again I'm not sure what happened to this month.

The End.

Happy New Year everyone! What are you doing for it? Have you made any New Year resolutions? I've made a few but I'll save that for another post.

Woodland Themed Christmas

A gorgeous woodland themed Christmas over at Tabitha Emma's. I'm feeling all inspired to make a pretty cake, I actually have some little Japanese bambi cake toppers too!

Twenty-Seven Names

Pretty!! I love New Zealand label Twenty-Seven Names, and these pretties are on sale too at Maximilla.
I wish I could have one of each!

My Christmas Wishlist in magazine form + a voucher

As part of a Christmas promotion Mag Nation asked me what my magazine subscription Christmas wishlist would be and if I would like a code to offer my readers 10% off these subscriptions. My response was "yes please! and how many magazines can I pick?!"

I love magazines but only a few years ago I remember I had given up on reading them, I felt like the only ones on offer wern't really me, or were too trashy (I tend to prefer TV for my trashy time). It wasn't until I was introduced to Frankie magazine and then discovered Mag Nation that my love for magazines really begun again. In the past few years I've started to collect and read so many. Mainly I buy a magazine for the inspiration, articles or because it features someone I find inspiring such as Bjork, Bat For Lashes or Lily Allen.

Anyways back to my picks, I went through my magazine collection and picked out the titles I own the most copies of, with Frankie being the clear standout (it takes up a complete shelf in my bookcase)
so my top subscriptions I wish for this Christmas ...

What magazine subscriptions are on your Christmas Wishlist?

Get 10% off subscriptions to these titles at Mag Nation ~ use code 'DYDRMLLY' during checkout. Valid till 24th Dec

A few features + party photos

Last month was so crazy! I had the Element launch and parties and interviews and oh my.....oh and my research project I have been working on for about 18months finally went out in the field. Anyways here's some of the interviews I did in case you'd like to have a read.

The lovely Charlotte Rivers interviewed for an article in the latest issue of Blanket Magazine - the celebration issue. Isn't the final layout just gorgeous? I've been a reader of Blanket for some years now so it's a complete honour to now be in it's pages. To accompany the article Charlotte asked who my favourite photographers were I had blogged, so a HUGE thanks to Ann He, George Downing, Kara O'Keefe, Jill Willcot, Anna Aden & my brother for also being a part of the article! Also that makes a trifector of Winnel's to now brace the Blanket pages! thanks Blanket!!

I had a chat with assistant editor Celeste of Mylookbook for the Dec issue about the Element collaboration as well as the blogging phenomenon. You'll also find a few other bloggers in the pages such as the lovely Gary Pepper Vintage. Thanks to Celeste for interviewing me!

Also ... ok last one I promise, the lovely peps at Nina Ricci perfums in France featured me in their Dream Portrait series.

oh and sorry about the same head shot everywhre...I really must get a few different photo options.

lastly... a few pictures from the Melbourne Element Eden 'Inspired By Daydream Lily' party thanks to LifeWithoutAndy.com over HERE and Sydney photos HERE.

phew...ok enough about me, how have you been? I hope you had a lovely weekend!

daydream lily says:

Christmas gift guides are hurting my head. I was going to make one, but I'm really lacking motivation right now. Plus there are heaps of lovely ones around.

What I'm most looking forward to this Christmas is rest oh and time to read a book. It's been so long since I just sat for a whole day, even half a day and read a good book or since I really had time completely for me. I remember when I was little my Dad would buy me a bunch of books for Christmas and by the end of school holidays I had read them all.

PS. I have this 'I love reading' tee in blue, *book nerd
PSS. Genki are also doing $10 "I love..." Lucky Dip tees. Fingers crossed I get I love Chocolate, or I love Sleeping.

Inspiring Spaces: Kirbee Lawler

Love these pictures from Sydney artist Kirbee Lawler's recent(-ish) exhibition. How cute is the deer?! This exhibition was a one night only, but you can see Kirbee's work in the current Curvy exhibitions.

PS. Is it holidays yet?

Inspired by Daydream Lily Polaroids

I posted these over on the Element Eden Blog yesterday but thought I'd share them here too. I took these Polaroids at the photoshoot for the collection back in April. I've been holding onto them for ages till I could finally blog them. It was so much fun going along to the shoot and getting to help style and pick the photo locations. Then seeing the final edited selection.
