Element Eden shoot :: behind the scenes + video

All the love for the Element Eden x Daydream Lily second collection makes me so happy! thank you to everyone who has blogged about it or commented or tweeted, you've made my week!

Heres the behind the scenes photos from the shoot, taken by my intern at the time Clachere. Lucky she was there because when I looked at my photos I realised I had missed lots of things like makeup being done and the photographers at work. I had mainly captured close up details like the teapots and the clothes on the rack. So big thanks to Clachere. Overall it was such a fun day and a great team to work with, we did the photoshoot to Lykke Li while drinking cups of tea and eating chocolates. By the end of the shoot though I was super tired...I can't imagine doing a week long shoot.

Also the video, shot by Jesse McCormack. I love this video! When I first saw it I seriously watched it 10 times, then sent it to my sister to watch. The song is now stuck in my head. I love the parts where Ali's kitty wants to join the shoot.

PS. I've now uploaded the whole collection to a folder on my facebook page.

Element Eden Inspired by Daydream Lily :: the second collection!!

Think doilies, and fresh flowers, tea cups, vintage treasures and handmade creations

photography: Ali Mitton
styling: Me!!
model: christine rose @ viviens sydney

It's been so hard to keep this a secret and I might have leaked a few pictures from it already on twitter and facebook, but I did a second collection with Element Eden! And this time we collaborated on a special edition holga camera too.

After the success of the first collection Element asked if Id be interested in collaborating on a second 'Inspired by Daydream Lily' collection and I jumped at the chance. I felt so inspired after the first one and felt I still had more designs and ideas running around in my head.

The artworks for the collection are from two of my favourite artists, Charmaine Olivia who did the ‘Tea Pot silhouette’ print and of course my sister, Bec Winnel. We used my favourite work ‘Viktoriya’ for the ‘Hats Off ‘ singlet.

I also styled the photoshoot packing up a box (or several) of things from around my house to decorate with including my jewellery collection to style the model. As you probably guessed my house is fairly girly/vintage! Full of opshop finds, books and cameras (those who visit regularly probably recognise a lot of my bit n pieces. They have popped up in a few places now! ).

Ahhh I have so much more I want to share about the collection! I took more behind the scenes photos this time as I regretted not documenting it enough last time, sometimes I get so busy at shoots or in the moment I forget to take photos! But this time I took a film camera along and have some beautiful behind the scenes photos I want to share. Also a video, outtakes and photos of the complete collection (some of the pieces were not back in time for the shoot). So I hope you don't mind this taking over my blog for the next wee while!

View the whole collection on my Facebook Page

PS. A few have asked if it can be bought online and so far I've found the 'hats off' singlet top for sale online here.

twenty-seven names :: take cover lookbook

twenty-seven names AW 2012 take cover collection. This collection has been getting lots of attention after the success of their exhibition/fashion show at the recent New Zealand Fashion Week.

Instead of doing a traditional runway show twenty-seven names instead put on a large scale exhibition of portraits. There is a good write up about the exhibition including all the pictures on the Vine here.

Hope you are all having a nice weekend x

NYFW coverage by Jeannie Tan

Backstage at Jeremy Scott by Jeannie Tan

It's great to see so many Aussie bloggers over at NYFW. I've been following numerous blogs but some of my favourite coverage has been by Melbourne photographer Jeannie Tan aka papertissue.

Jeannie was again flown to NYFW as part of the Tumblr20 - an initiative by tumblr to bring 20 of their top fashion bloggers from around the world to cover fashion week.

Ahh I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one day blogging will enable me to travel the world. To be able to travel to Europe or America as a full time blogger....wow, wouldn't that just be amazing?! I think that's the ultimate bloggers' dream... that or a book deal.
