Deep thoughts-How far you go
How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.

Kelsey Genna Bridal

Holy Wow!! That's basically all I could say after seeing the new bridal direction from young New Zealand designer Kelsey Genna. I feel like a proud Mumma watching her journey as a designer, but that is because Kelsey's very first designs I blogged many years back.
Ahh these creations are just so beautiful and delicate, I couldn't decide whether to blog these campaign images or the lookbook pictures which are equally as stunning (could be because I adore white and lace - the main interior of my home). You must have a look at them here.

The Horse Summer 12/13

My favourite Australian shoe label The Horse have just released their new Summer 12/13 collection and its gorgeous as always!
Including a rerun the popular Thelma style from last summer in new candy hues as well as new designs, such as my favourite Nancy. I have my heart set on getting Nancy this summer.....I think she will be perfect to pair with all my dresses and shorts and go with most of my wardrobe, a perfect versatile summer sandal.

Sexual quotes-Life without sex
Life without sex might be safer but it would be unbearably dull. It is the sex instinct which makes women seem beautiful, which they are once in a blue moon, and men seem wise and brave, which they never are at all. Throttle it, denaturalize it, take it away, and human existence would be reduced to the prosaic, laborious, boresome, imbecile level of life in an anthill.

Talulah Summer 12/13

So many new designers have landed in my store Style Milk. I feel like all I've been doing the past month is study and loading stock!!
Like the Talulah Neon Romance Summer 12/13 as seen at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Sydney! Some of you may remember it as the runway show that fellow blogger Nicole aka Gary Pepper opened in the shirt and pant combo (fourth picture) in Garden Romance print. Such a surreal moment to see a blogger on the runway! Talulah was definitely my favourite show from Fashion Week.
View the first drop from Talulah Neon Romance at Style Milk now! with more styles coming soon.

Motivational thoughts-The Little Rules of Life
The Little Rules of Life
Sing in the shower.
Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
Watch a sunrise at least once a year.
Leave the toilet seat in the down position.
Never refuse homemade brownies.
Strive for excellence, not perfection.
Plant a tree on your birthday.
Learn 3 clean jokes.
Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank full.
Compliment 3 people every day.
Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.
Leave everything a little better than you found it.
Keep it simple.
Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.
Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
Floss your teeth.
Ask for a raise when you think you've earned it.
Overtip breakfast waitresses.
Be forgiving of yourself and others.
Say, "Thank you" a lot.
Say, "Please" a lot.
Avoid negative people.
Buy whatever kids are selling on card tables in their front yards.
Wear polished shoes.
Remember other people's birthdays.
Commit yourself to constant improvement.
Carry jumper cables in your truck.
Have a firm handshake.
Send lots of Valentine cards.
Sign them, "Someone who thinks you're terrific."
Look people in the eye.
Be the first to say hello.
Use the good silver.
Return all things you borrow.
Make new friends, but cherish the old ones.
Keep a few secrets.
Sing in a choir.
Plant flowers every spring.
Have a dog.
Always accept an outstretched hand.
Stop blaming others.
Take responsibility for every area of your life.
Wave at kids on school busses.
Be there when people need you.
Feed a stranger's expired parking meter.
Don't expect life to be fair.
Never underestimate the power of love.
Drink champagne for no reason at all.
Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation.
Don't be afraid to say, "I made a mistake."
Don't be afraid to say, "I don't know."
Compliment even small improvements.
Keep your promises no matter what.
Marry for love.
Rekindle old friendships.
Count your blessings.
Call your mother.

Bared Footwear

Recently Ally and I did a fun little shoot together with our new shoes from Melbourne label Bared footwear.
Bared create stylish shoes that are also healthy for your feet! Designer Anna Baird is trained as a Podiatrist and started the label after struggling to find shoes she liked that also offered support and that she would recommend to her clients and friends.
Staying true to my Melbourne roots, I styled my new suede loafers with the Arabella Ramsay feral animals tee for a quirky fun look.

Thoughts-The prayer that shocked the world
THE PRAYER THAT SHOCKED THE WORLD
When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:
"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
* We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
* We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
* We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
* We have shot anti-abortionists and called it justifiable.
* We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
* We have abused power and called it politics.
* We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
* We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
* We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
* Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Amen!"
The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.
In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively.
The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Pakistan, Africa and Korea.
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and whole-heartedly become our desire so that we again can be called: "one nation under God."

My sister is having her first ever solo show! Earlier this year she took the plunge and left her full time job to be a full time artist and I'm such a proud sis to have been with her along the way, from her very first Etsy sale to now her first solo exhibition. I wish I could be in Melbourne to see it, but Bec has been sending me lots of updates and pictures.
The exhibition is being held at Just Another Agency Project Space as a sideshow to the Semi-Permanent conference Melbourne. Bec spoke at the Sydney, Auckland and Brisbane conferences but wont be speaking at Melbourne. You can see my pictures from the Sydney conference in this post
So anyone who is going to be in Melbourne this Friday night or going to the Semi-Permanent conference, please go along to my sisters show and see her super awesome amazing work in the flesh!! Shes also decorated the space so cute. Ill have to share some pictures from it here for those of us not able to go.
More details on the show @ Just Another Agency HERE.

Philosophical quotes-Error
The world always makes the assumption that the exposure of an error is identical with the discovery of truth - that the error and truth are simply opposite. They are nothing of the sort. What the world turns to, when it is cured on one error, is usually simply another error, and maybe one worse than the first one.

I've been wanting to check out QT Hotel ever since seeing Rach's post on In Spaces Between. Before that I didn't even know hotels like this existed on the Gold Coast!! QT is not your traditional hotel, it's a designer hotel with retro inspired quirky interiour and so much attention to detail!! Like the fresh handmade lemonade that you get in your room on arrival, acapulco chairs throughout the place, and a super cute retro candy bar in the room.
Seriously so proud that Gold Coast is the first to get this new series of hotels with the next opening in Sydney this month!!
The hotel also has a bar (Stingrays), amazing market place resturant (Baazar) and my favourite a day spa (SpaQ). So you dont need to stay to come checkout the place. Already making plans to go back to the resturant, the breakfast was my favourite... fresh made pancakes and a flavoured milk and juices fridge. yum.
Also for those who have been wondering where you can get Macaroons on the Gold Coast, this place has a really good selection in their cafe, FIXX.
